iPrint
iPrint allows you to print to ResTek residential computer lab printers from your room. If you would like to setup iPrint, follow the instructions below.
We are currently unable to offer this service for Windows Vista and Macs running Leopard. Novell has not yet released a stable client that runs on Vista or Leopard. Also, printing from Linux and Mac operating systems to the Fairhaven or Birnam Wood printers is currently not supported.
Installing iPrint
- Download the iPrint Print Agent for Windows XP, Linux 32-bit, Linux 64-bit, or Macs .
- Click Run several times until the iPrint installer is started.
- Click Next to continue with Installation.
- Click Finish to finish the installation.
- Restart your computer.

Important: You can’t print until you return to this page to select a printer. (The address for this page is http://restek.wwu.edu/other/iprint/)
Choose a printer
After you’ve installed the iPrint Agent, you need to choose a printer.
Please select a printer:
- Nash (Nash Computer Lab, rm 740)
- Mathes (Mathes Computer Lab, rm 913)
- Higginson (Higginson Computer Lab, rm 294)
- Ridgeway (Ridgeway Computer Lab)
- Fairhaven (Fairhaven Computer Lab)
- Buchanan Towers (BT Main Lounge)
- Birnam Wood (Birnam Wood Community Building)
After you select and successfully install a printer, you can print to that printer from any program on your computer.
Printing from your room
- Once you’ve succesfully printed, head to the computer lab.
- If you go to the print release station (the computer nearest to the printer in most cases) you should see your universal login (the one you use for your MyWestern e-mail) on a list.
- Double click your login and type in your password to get to the list of jobs waiting to be printed.
- The document you printed from your room should be on the list. Double-click on it, and it will start printing!
Troubleshooting
Printer wouldn’t install
Are you sure that you restarted your computer after installing the iPrint Agent? You must install iPrint and restart your computer before returning to this page and continuing with installation.
Can’t install a printer because the popups are being blocked
Web browsers which block popups, eg Mozilla Firefox, might interfere with installing a printer. To install the printer, either use Internet Explorer which doesn’t block the popups; or, temporarily disable the blocking in your browser.
iPrint installs OK, but things don’t print.
Make sure you have the lab printer selected when you print something. Many computers have fax or PDF print drivers installed. If something else is set to be the default printer, your documents won’t print.
