The ResTek Program provides education and support to on-campus residents in their use of technology. Residential Technology Services (ResTek) is a program of the Office of University Residences.
The ResTek staff is composed of WWU students who have been trained to assist residents with their technology needs via phone, email, and room visits. Throughout the year, ResTek consultants are readily available to help assist you with virus and spyware infections, safe Internet habits, and connecting your computer to the Internet. Our goal is to provide guidance so you gain knowledge and confidence in maintaining your own computer.
ResTek is excited to introduce a new internship program this fall. Beginning with paid training, ResTek Interns join the team that assists 4,000 fellow on-campus residents in getting connected to the Internet when they move in for Fall quarter. The internship then continues throughout the academic year, with opportunities for learning more skills, taking on leadership, and priority consideration for ongoing, part-time positions with ResTek.

On August 29, 2007 ResTek changed internet providers from Fibercloud to the Washington K-20 Education Network. K-20 is the provider used by the rest of campus, and now it is also used in the residence halls. However, the connection will not be shared between campus and the residence halls.
We hope that this change will positively impact your internet experience within the residence halls and, as always, we encourage you to give feedback.
Are you an incoming student for Fall 2007? You probably have a few questions about the Internet connection available in the residence halls. We’ve compiled a list of information so you can become more acquainted with ResTek and what we provide. The New Student Information page also has a checklist with the items you need to get connected to our network.
If you have any questions, contact the ResTek Staff at (360) 650-2946, or email: info@restek.wwu.edu.
